OBIT: Joseph “Joe” Morvick, Jr. (Ford City)
Joseph “Joe” Morvick Jr., 72, of Ford City, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015, at Allegheny General Hospital.
He was born December 13, 1942, to Joseph J. and Mae (Fulmer) Morvick Sr.
“Joe” was a lifelong resident of the area.
He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from Eljer Plumbingware in 2003 after more than 35 years.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Ford City, as well as Sinnemahoning Sportsmen’s Association and United Steelworkers of America.
“Joe” enjoyed hunting and fishing, his grandson’s football games, sports, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, his flower gardens, his fish pond, the Last Frontier Camp and especially his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Nancy (Repak) Morvick; son, John (Kristina) Morvick, of Kittanning; daughter, Dianna (Shane) Lash, of Ford City; brother, Gregory (Joyce) Morvick, of Kittanning; sister, JoAnn (Robert) Coleman, of Leechburg; and six beloved grandchildren: Justin, Jacob and Ryan, of Ford City, Brandon, of Kittanning, Jessica, of McGrann, and Corey, of Apollo.
“Joe” was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Carol Wiehagen.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9PM today - Wednesday, September 9, 2015 - at Mantini Funeral Home in Ford City.
A prayer service will be held at 9:30AM tomorrow - Thursday, September 10, 2015 - at the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 10AM in Christ Prince of Peace Parish.
Father John Harold will be officiating.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
