OBIT: Richard “Dick” Gaiser (Cadogan)

Richard “Dick” Gaiser, 81, a lifelong resident of Cadogan, died Monday, August 24, 2015, at his residence.

He was born November 2, 1933, in Boggsville to Martin Gaiser and Grace Streightif Gaiser.

“Dick” retired from Penn Dixie Cement Company.

He also served as a U.S. Army medic during the Korean War.

“Dick” was a member of Slate Lick United Presbyterian Church

He enjoyed hunting, camping, watching the grandkids’ sporting events, NASCAR, Steelers football and spending time with his family.

“Dick” is survived by his daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Broad, of Cadogan; three grandchildren: Dana Klingensmith, of Ford City, Douglas (and Carrie) Chesnutt, of Cadogan, and Jennifer (and David) Kinter, of Ford City; six great-grandchildren: Jacob, Paige, Jessa, Nicholas, Sarah and Olivia; brother, William Gaiser, of Cadogan; and two sisters: Betty Simpson, of Grants Pass, of Oregon, and Anna Marie and Howard Himes, of Kittanning.

“Dick” was preceded in death by his wife Isabel Phillippi Gaiser, who died July 3, 2006.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9PM tomorrow - Wednesday, August 26, 2015 - at the Mantini Funeral Home in Ford City.

Additional visitation will be offered from 9:30AM until the time of the funeral service at 10AM Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the funeral home.

Pastor Mark Davis will officiate.

Interment will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
