Camp Huff-n-Puff Registration Opens

Breathe Pennsylvania, southwestern Pennsylvania’s only locally-based lung health organization, announced that enrollment is now open for the 31st annual Camp Huff-n-Puff for children with asthma.

This year’s event will take place August 13-16 at the Jumonville Camp and Retreat Center in Uniontown (Fayette County).

The four-day overnight camp is designed for children ages 8 to 13, and enables campers to participate in educational sessions covering self-management of their asthma. A staff of medical doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists and volunteers - including counselors with asthma - will be on hand at all times to help campers enjoy a safe, educational and fun experience.

Supervised activities include swimming and team challenges, and campers will enjoy air-conditioned cabins and three meals per day.

Camp tuition is $125 for residents of western Pennsylvania. Breathe Pennsylvania also offers full and partial scholarships, based on financial need.

Breathe Pennsylvania, headquartered in Cranberry Township, helps people of all ages in southwestern Pennsylvania achieve and maintain optimal lung health through education, prevention, awareness and direct services. The organization, which serves Armstrong, Butler and eight other regional counties, is dedicated to equipping residents of southwestern Pennsylvania with the knowledge and tools they need to become advocates for their own lung health.
