OBIT: Anna Mae Boyer (Kittanning)
Anna Mae Boyer, 79, of Kittanning, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
She was born May 21, 1935 in Indiana County, the daughter of George L. Adams and Goldie E. (Donahue) Houser Adams.
Anna grew up in Shelocta and graduated from Elderton High School. She married Robert E. Boyer on August 1, 1953 and moved to Plumcreek Township, where she lived the rest of her life.
Anna was employed as a caregiver to the elderly and loved getting to know her patients.
Music was her passion and she was very involved with music programs at her church, Plumcreek Church of the Brethren, serving as the former choir director and the church organist.
She also loved feeding her family and was known for being an excellent cook and baker.
Anna cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her caring nature will be greatly missed.
Her memory will be carried on with love by her loving husband of 61 years, Robert E. Boyer, whom she married August 1, 1953; two sons: Larry R. Boyer and wife, Sylvia, of Saint Clairsville, Ohio, and Barry Lynn Boyer and wife, Tammy, of Ford City; two daughters: Diana Leigh Arbuckle and husband, Jim, of Elderton, and Lori Ann Altman and husband, William, of Greensburg; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Dorothy I. Morrison, of Ravenna, Ohio and Betty Mae Wood and husband, William, of Kittanning.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Gary Lynn Boyer; and two brothers: Robert E. Houser and Lee Adams.
Friends will be received from 2-4 PM and 6-8PM tomorrow - Saturday, March 28, 2015 - at Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home in Elderton.
Additional visitation will be held from noon until the time of funeral services at 1PM on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Plumcreek Church of the Brethren, 3087 Dutch Run Rd., Shelocta, PA, with the Rev. Randy Derck officiating.
Burial will be in Elderton Cemetery in Elderton.
