Intoxicated West Franklin Man Jailed

A West Franklin Man became disorderly toward State Police troopers and tried to escape their custody Thursday.

About 5:50AM Thursday, State Police from the Kittanning barracks was initially called along St. Patrick’s Road in West Franklin Township to a vehicle stuck in a snow bank, and found Zwilling intoxicated behind the wheel.

According to State Police, he was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and transported to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township for blood analysis.

Zwilling reportedly became extremely disorderly with police troopers and attempted to escape custody by trying to run from the hospital room. He had to be physically restrained.

Zwilling later was also disorderly at the police barracks – located near ACMH in East Franklin Township.

At 9AM Thursday, Zwilling was arraigned by District Magisterial Judge James Owen on seven misdemeanor charges – including the original driving under the influence charges – and a summary careless driving charge and committed to the Armstrong County Jail in Rayburn on $5,000 bond.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for next week.
