OBIT: Isabell (Rosenberger) Bell (Kittanning)
Isabell Margaret “Mema” (Rosenberger) Bell, 81, of Kittanning went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She was born in Kittanning on December 29, 1932, a daughter of the late Lester and Margaret Ethel (Richards) Rosenberger. She was the last surviving member of her siblings.
She loved her family and had a strong faith in the Lord. She was a brave woman who was a cancer survivor three times since 1956, but she always held on to her faith and courage. She will always be in the hearts and memories of those who knew her.
She loved spending time with her family and cherished the holidays spent together (as she would say) “around the Hallmark tree.” She loved going to Benezette to see the elk and enjoyed taking pride in her home, crocheting, sitting on the front porch with her family. She enjoyed watching the deer and birds from kitchen window. Also she like playing cards with her family.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeport.
“Mema” is survived by her loving husband of 64 years: David R. Bell; three daughters: Carolyn E. Mergen, Peggy A. (David) Bowser, and Catherin L. Younkins; grandchildren: Carol (James) Altman, James (Elizabeth) Bell, Tracy (Scott) King, Cathlynn Bowser, Tommy Younkins; great-grandchildren: Alyssa Altman, Joshua Sorrels, Kelsey Altman, Heaven Sorrels, Autumn Sorrels; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son: James A. Bell; granddaughter: Angie Marie Bell; son-in-law: John W. Mergen; sisters: Mary Wells, Edith Farster, Ivie Miller, Florence Rosenberger, Ruth Dickman; brother: Lester Rosenberger.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday, November 20, 2014 in the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home in Kittanning. Additional viewing will begin at 10AM on Friday, November 21, 2014 in the funeral home until the time of a funeral service at 11AM with her church pastor, the Reverend James Neal, officiating. Interment will take place in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
The family would also like to say a special thanks to Dr. Khalil and Dr. Tabbara as well as Pastor James Neal.
