OBIT: Louave Hopper (Templeton)

Louave Hopper, 88, of Templeton, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on June 29, 1925 in Widnoon - the daughter of James O. and Gladys (Hetrick) Duncan.

Louave attended Hawkville Elementary School and graduated from Kittanning High School in 1945. She married Alvin L. Hopper in Widnoon on October 15, 1946 and worked for several years as a production worker at the Sylvania plant in Brookville.

Faith was an important facet of Louave’s life and she was a member of Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church. She also served as a lay minister for the Wesleyan Methodist Conference.

Louave will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and her family and friends will never forget her kind and caring spirit.

Her memory will be cherished by her two sons: Stanley R. Hopper and wife, Tana, of Templeton, and Jerry Lee Hopper and wife, Judy, of Boardman, OH; four daughters: Gloria N. Helsley and husband, Denny, of Widnoon, J. DeLee Craig and husband, Randall, of North Huntingdon, Shirley J. Peters and husband, Spencer, of Cooperstown, and Marilyn Kay Hannold and husband, Randy, of Cooperstown; 20 grandchildren and their spouses; 26 great-grandchildren and their spouses; nine great-great-grandchildren; brother, Gary W. “Bill” Duncan and wife, Cheryl, of Worthington; two sisters: June Yarnell and husband, Burt, of Franklin, Pa., and Willovene “Willie” Steiner and husband, James, of Lebanon, Ohio; sister-in-law, Maxine Duncan, of Kellersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Louave was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 60 years, Alvin L. Hopper who died December 10, 2006; brother, Fred Duncan; son-in-law, Edward Hornberger, and great grandson-in-law, Josh Walker.

Relatives and friends will be received from 6-8 PM today - Thursday, August 1, 2013- and from 2-4 and 6-8PM tomorrow - Friday, August 2, 2013 - at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Rimersburg.

Additional visitation will be held from noon until the time of funeral services at 1PM on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church, State Route 861, Rimersburg, with the Rev. Mark Deeter and Rev. Richard Price co-officiating.

Burial will follow at Kellersburg Methodist Cemetery in Templeton.
