OBIT: Betty Jean (Smeltzer) Daniels (Kittanning)
Betty Jean (Smeltzer) Daniels, 73 of Kittanning, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013 in the Armstrong County Health Center.
She was born September 24, 1939 in Ohio to James and Ida (Wolfe) Smeltzer.
A lifelong community resident, Betty was a homemaker.
She was a member of the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Adrian, as well as the Kittanning Moose lodge and Ford City Eagles.
Betty was a breast cancer survivor and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved to play BINGO.
She is survived by her two daughters: Mary (Mike) Stefancik of Florida and Gwen Hawkins of Ford City; two sons: Howard Cunningham of Kittanning and Charles (Adriene) Daniels of Adrian; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Ethel Lytle of Fayetville, North Carolina and June (Jewel) Goodman of Kittanning.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Daniels; sister, Ruth Cornman; and two grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9PM tomorrow – Friday, August 2, 2013 – at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.
Additional visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of funeral services at 11AM Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Arlyn Eisenbrandt officiating.
Interment will follow in Ford City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
