OBIT: Timmy Alvin Smith (Worthington)

Timmy Alvin Smith, 66, of Worthington died at his home with his loving wife at his side.

He was born on August 13, 1946 in Kittanning, a son of Kenneth Alvin and Genavieve E. (Rupert) Smith.

He worked maintenance at TV Manufacturing in Natrona Heights. He was a member of the National Guard.

He attended Christ Community Chapel, where he played in the church band. He was a musician most of his life, playing his B3 Hammond organ and two keyboards that he loved. He played at the Holiday Inn in Albany, NY and traveled the country playing with the Vogues, Vagabonds, and various other bands before coming back home and playing with the Silver Hamner Band while working at 5 Rubber in Kittanning.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years: Phyllis B. (Pollard) Smith; son Philip J. (Patty) Pollard and their children: Veanna Rose and Zoey Lynn of Sarver; son Todd (Judy) Smith and their children: Dereck, Darin, Aleshia, Autumn of Halliesburg, Mississippi; daughter Amy (Eric) Claypool and their children Autumn and Callen of Elderton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Roger D. Smith; and father-in-law James H. Pollard, Sr.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning, where a funeral service will be held at 11AM on Wednesday with additional viewing one hour prior to the service. Pastor Paul Rihel will officiate. Interment will take place in the Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
