Gas Prices Take Another Jump at Pump
Local drivers were shocked yesterday as they pulled into gas stations and found prices increased for the second time in a month!
Gas prices throughout Armstrong County took another jump yesterday, representing the second highest jump in the last 30 days.
According to the Lundberg Survey of about 2,500 gas stations, the national average for a gallon of self-serve, regular gasoline was $3.57 on March 18. Yesterday’s jump took the current average price of $3.75 nearly 94 cents above the year-ago level.
In the last America’s Research Group poll, about three-quarters of Americans surveyed said they were shopping less due to rising gas prices.
Since consumer spending accounts for nearly two-thirds of the U.S. economy, rising gas prices will certainly have an effect on retail businesses throughout the county as discretionary purchases will be limited to pay for increased fuel costs.
The survey showed that rising gas prices are the biggest concern about the U.S. economy right now by 62 percent of those surveyed. Less than 15 percent worried about high unemployment and government spending.

I like how the Sunoco in Worthington has been turning off the price on their sign. I pulled in there and it was $3.75 on their pump and it was a dime cheaper across the road at the Jiffy Mart. I guess the gas prices make us all be desperate. I probably would have gotten gas at the Sunoco, but since they chose to be so sneaky about it, I went to the other side of the road instead.

Obama is getting a kick back from all this. Big Oil Obama should be his new nickname. By the time 2012 rolls around he’ll make double what Bush made in his 8 years.

Where I don’t believe Obama is getting a cutback, I do believe the money supply is the problem. My husband and I started using GAS Envy months ago and we enjoy seeing the price go up now.

I have 3 words:
DRILL, DRILL, DRILL
Yes, drill right here in the good ol’ USA.
If we continue to wait and rely on foreign supplies, God only knows what the price will be come summer/fall.
