Two former Pine Township supervisors have been charged with stealing gasoline during their tenures by state police troopers.
Richard Myers, Jr., 52 of Templeton, and Douglas Kennedy, 64 of Templeton, were both issued gas cards to purchase unleaded gasoline at Bradigan’s Inc. in Kittanning are accused of theft by deception/access device fraud.
Myers reportedly purchased $1,490.54 of unauthorized gasoline between January 1, 2004 and February 13, 2006 as a former supervisor and didn’t pay state or federal tax when he obtained $3,987.22-worth in the name of the police department because of using personal checks.
Kennedy reportedly purchased $3,804.03 of unauthorized unleaded gasoline from Bradigan’s between August 19, 2005 and November 14, 2007.
Charges against both men were filed before District Magisterial Judge Samuel Goldstrohm Friday. According to online court schedules, preliminary hearings for both men have not been scheduled as of Friday evening.
