RIZZO: Upstart Freeport Ready For Ford City Trip

The story of the young high school baseball season has been Freeport. As of yesterday afternoon the YellowJackets are 3-0 in their section and 6-1 overall. This includes a non section win over Kittanning and a big section win over Burrell. Freeport will travel to Ford Cliff on Monday afternoon. The game is scheduled to start at 3:45. Ford City is 1-2 in section play and travels to Valley this afternoon looking to improve to 2-2. Freeport’s pitching has been the key so far this season. Monday’s showdown is a big game for both teams’ playoff aspirations. If you can’t wait until Monday for your FC sports excitement, the Ford City Girls Softball Team has big home game against Valley starting at 3:45.
