RIZZO: Pivotal Game for Steelers

by Michael Rizzo

This week’s game is pivotal for the Steelers. I’m sure Steeler fans have already figured that out. If they can win in Cincinnati on Sunday it would put the Steelers at 6-2 heading into a showdown on Sunday Night against New England. It’s a home game and I would venture to guess the Steelers will be playing like wildmen especially if New England is 7-1. After that the Steelers have Oakland and Buffalo, and could very well be on their way to 9-2. However if the Steelers find a way to lose to Cincinnati, then they’ll head into the New England game playing not to lose. I think the Steelers would be better off a win against New England then a lost. I guess we’ll see.

RIZZO: Ford City Gets East Allegheny

by Michael Rizzo

I think it’s the best possible draw Ford City could have received. They got the fourth seed, so that tells me their defensive stats impressed the committee. They’re much better off than the second and third seeds. They’ll play the winner of Seton LaSalle and Mt. Pleasant, probably Seton LaSalle. Aliquippa is in their half of the bracket and should easily get to the semi-final. Again there are no powerhouses or top college recruits in double-AA this season, and it should be a very competitive playoffs. If there was ever a year Ford City was going to get to Heinz Field, it’s this year. Finally Freeport will play at Jeannette, a game they should be happy to get.
