Principal Corrects Elderton Statistics

Elderton Elementary Principal Christopher Hooks updated misinformation presented at last month’s Armstrong School District board meeting.

“The figures for Elderton’s English-Language Arts (ELA) statistics for Third Grade were listed wrong in the presentation,” Hooks said in a telephone discussion following Tuesday’s publication of the information.

The actual ELA assessment was 80.7%, an impressive figure compared to the state average of 62%. Hooks said Math scores were 70.9% in Third Grade Math, compared to the state average of 56%.

“We are quite pleased with our students’ achievement and the hard work done by our teaching staff,” he said.

The Kittanning Paper released the original information in the Tuesday, January 7 edition.
