12/06/1969 - White mums decorated the altar of Tachikawa Air Base Chapel in Japan on Friday, Oct. 17, for the 7:30 p.m. wedding of Miss Nancy Bowser and Capt. John Jacubec. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Bowser of Adrian.

12/06/1969 - Births at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital: Dec. 5, 1969 - girl to Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. George, Ford City RD 3, and girl to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas R. Ager, Kittanning MR 10 (Butler Road). Dec. 6, 1969 - girl to Mr. and Mrs. John Waldor, Rural Valley RD 1.

12/06/1969 – Michael L. Titus, son of Mr. & Mrs. Arthur Titus of Kittanning RD2, enlisted in the U.S. Army and is doing basic training at Fort Dix, NJ. Titus, 1 1969 graduate of Kittanning High School, was employed at the McNees-Kittanning Company brickyard prior to enlistment.

12/06/1969 – SP/5 Mark Armstrong is spending 40 days with his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Wilbur Armstrong of Ford City RD3, before departing on a year’s duty at Phu Lam, South Vietnam.

12/06/1954 - Linde Air Products Company workers began yesterday preparing the Applewold plant for return to normal operation as Local 600 of the CIO Gas Coke and Chemical Workers union settled a two-week strike.

12/06/1954 - The 25th anniversary of the founding of Kittanning Garden Club was observed in the century-old home of Mrs. Dwight Sedwick, N. Jefferson St.

12/06/1949 - Harry A. Montgomery, funeral director here is the newest member of the Board of Education for Kittanning Public Schools. He replaces A. B. Eadie, the retiring board president, who resigned a month ago because of his health.

12/06/1949 - Albert E. Pryde, assistant district manager for the Prudential Insurance Company, is the new president of the Board of Education of Kittanning School District.

12/06/1949 - Kittanning Town Councilmen threatened last night to prohibit the parking of buses and large trucks from all town streets, but deferred final action on several suggestions until after the first of the year.

12/06/1944 - Another Armstrong County Soldier has made the supreme sacrifice on the battlefields of France. M-Sgt. LaVerne Lowry died from wounds on Thanksgiving Day, (Nov. 23, 1944). No details were contained in the War Department telegram.

12/06/1944 - Cornerstone of Yatesboro Presbyterian Church Building is Laid. Congregation Contributes Over $1,000 to Building Fund at Ceremony.

12/06/1939 - More than 700 school-age children of Kittanning took part in the recreational activities of the Community Youth Council last week, even thought the playcenters were closed for a full day last Monday due to a regional staff meeting of WPA’s Division of Education and Recreation.

12/06/1939 - Kittanning’s second fire in the business district within a month-long period, discovered shortly after midnight Tuesday, caused heavy smoke damage to two stores in the three-story Reynolds building, Market at N. Jefferson St.

12/06/1934 - Ford City: The new high school gymnasium, here, was dedicated last night and opened for its first public inspection to a group of several hundred patrons, including the town’s most influential citizens, business and industrial leaders and out-of-town guests.
