A special event for veterans took place on Friday evening, September 20, as a thank you to the residents at the Mechling Shakley Veterans Center.
The Western Pennsylvania Outdoor Enthusiasts group put together an outdoor steak and shrimp dinner for almost 60 veterans who reside at the Center located along Route 268 in Sugarcreek Township.
Along with other servers pictured, Jorn Jensen, a U.S. Army Infantry veteran himself, from Worthington, was on the far end of the serving line handing out the steaks and shrimp.
