
Armstrong District Attorney Katie Charlton said Carlin Quinn is accused of burglarizing First Commonwealth Bank in Leechburg.
Armstrong County District Attorney Katie Charlton along with Leechburg Chief of Police Jason Schaeffer announced the arrest of Carlin Quinn, 27, of Leechburg.
Quinn will be facing charges of Burglary, Criminal Trespass, Theft and Criminal Mischief, which were filed by Leechburg Police Officer Mark Pollick.
According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the charges stem from incident which occurred in Leechburg Borough on January 8, 2018 involving a break-in at the First Commonwealth Bank at 152 Market St. wherein access to the bank was gained by a hole in the wall from an adjacent building. The bank was closed at the time of the break-in. A total of $1,370.52 was reported stolen. According to the Affidavit, items taken from the scene were collected by Pennsylvania State Police Forensic Services Unit and several items were transferred to the custody of the FBI Laboratory in Quantico, Virginia for DNA testing. A report was received back from the FBI Laboratory on August 13, 2019, indicating the presence of Mr. Quinn’s DNA on the items.
Chief Schaeffer praised the efforts of Officer Pollick and further stated, “We have continued to investigate this case diligently since the time of the incident and I am happy that our efforts resulted in charges being filed. I think it’s important for the residents of Leechburg Borough to know that we work hard to continue to investigate cases even if it is behind the scenes.”
Charlton praised the work of the Leechburg police department and the officers involved in the investigation for their continued commitment to the case and its investigation.
“Chief Schaeffer, Officer Pollick and all involved did an outstanding job in handling the investigation and I look forward to prosecuting the case. As always, my office is prepared to prosecute the case to the fullest extent of the law,” she said.
Charges are not evidence of guilt. A charged defendant is presumed innocent until a jury returns a unanimous finding that the Commonwealth has provide the defendant’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
Quinn will be arraigned before Magisterial District Judge James Andring.
