2/13/1969 – A new executive director of the Armstrong County Redevelopment Authority was named last night at the board of director’s regular monthly meeting. Hired was Charles A. Nath, 28, a renewal representative for the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in Pittsburgh.
2/13/1964 – Clarence W. Crytzer of Kittanning RD 2 today was sworn into office as a Rayburn Twp. supervisor. Crytzer was selected by the other two supervisors, W. L. Clever, president and J. Newton Lamison, to fill the unexpired term of Arthur F. Titus who resigned recently.

2/13/1959 – An abandoned limestone mine near Worthington could become a mushroom growing center soon. An official of Butler County Mushroom Farm, Inc., confirmed that his company had made an offer for the unused workings of Michigan Limestone Corporation’s Buffalo Valley mine.

2/13/1954 – MIAMI The 15th annual baseball players’ golf tourney got underway here yesterday with defending champions Allie Reynolds in the national league division and Ken Yount in the minor league section favored to regain their titles. Yount is a Kittanning native, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Yount of Kittanning RD 3, who is seeking his third consecutive win in the minor loop division.
2/13/1954 – A new six-room elementary school building was officially placed in the hands of the North Buffalo Twp school board at a ceremony witnessed by over 500 township residents and other well-wishers.
2/13/1939 – Bill Kern, Carnegie Tech football coach who was voted by sportswriters the outstanding coach in the United States during 1938, will speak in Kittanning Feb. 13 at a banquet honoring Kittanning High School football and basketball teams. The event, sponsored by the 13-17 Club, will be held in the Hotel Alexander.
2/13/1939 – The US Towboat Tecumseh, blocked by heavy river ice three weeks ago in an effort to reach No. 9 dam at Rimerton with a derrick, completed the delayed trip after an ice gorge at Templeton moved out.
