12/08/1968 – Fire gutted the interior of the Frank Crawford home on Reesdale Road near Adrian in an early morning fire. Neighbors helped family carry out most of household furnishes before flames engulfed the house. The house was owned by Alma Wolfe of 178 South Jefferson Street, Kittanning.
12/09/1968 – About 69 justice of the peace offices in Armstrong County will be reduced to four in Armstrong County under a plan submitted to the State Supreme Court. Judge J. Frank Graff sent the plan to the high court under legislation recently signed by Gov. Raymond P. Shafer, which alters the judiciary article of the state constitution. The plan was drawn up by four members of the Armstrong County Bar Association: R. A. House Jr., David C. Suckling, James G. Callas, and John B. McCue.
12/10/1968 – William Anderson, 18, of Templeton, son of Mr. & Mrs. Leroy Anderson, has been promoted to the rank of sergeant in the Army. He is serving with the 9th Infantry Division in Alaska. Sgt. Anderson entered the service on June 13, 1967.
12/10/1963 - William L. Stroud of West Kittanning was elected president of Kittanning Union School Board and chairman of the Operating Committee of Kittanning Area Secondary School System at reorganization meeting of school directors in Kittanning Area Senior HS.

12/10/1958 - A 2 year old boy was admitted to Armstrong Co. Memorial Hospital with burns of the abdomen, arms, and face. Hospital official ones said Phillip Rosenberger Jr. of Vandergrift RD 2 is listed in “fair” condition after falling against a coal stove which set his pajamas on fire.
12/10/1958 - Armstrong Co. Orchestra and Chorus was enthusiastically received last night by an audience composed largely of parents in the Junior HS auditorium. 200 student musicians from 9 high schools participated in the program of Christmas music. School music supervisors led the students in the well prepared program.

12/10/1953- A Dayton man was awarded $85000 by an Armstrong Co. common pleas jury for injuries which paralyzed his body from the waist down. The award was the largest one ever made in the 148 year history of Armstrong Co. courts.

12/10/1948 - The body of Pvt. Joseph H. Kozuch, who gave his life in WWII, will be returned to Ford City on a passenger train. The body will be taken to the home of Pvt. Kozuch’s mother, Mrs. Anna Kozuch of 909 6th Ave.
12/10/1948 - A $10000 damage suit has been filed against the Allegheny River Mining Co. by 2 Freeport RD residents, records at the prothonotary’s office show. Robert R. Sloan and Anna B. Sloan of Freeport RD 1 filed an action in trespass against the mining company. The papers set forth that damage to premises made the land unfit for agriculture as a result of a burning gob pile from coal mined at Cadogan.
12/10/1943 - Previously listed as MIA, T-Sgt. Delmer C. Morrow, Kittanning paratrooper is now listed by the War Dept. as dead, according to a telegram received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Morrow of 1374 N Grant Ave.
12/10/1943 - Sgt. Steve Kamody, one of 4 soldier sons of Mr. and Mrs. John Kamody of McVille was killed in a tank accident at Camp Polk, LA.

Attempting to deliver the 3rd dividend checks of 8% as rapidly as possible, the staff finds that at the end of the first 5 days, less than half of the claimants have appeared to lift their checks.
