10/31/1963 - Ford City- Over 900 people took part last night in a Halloween parade in Ford City. It was one of the largest turnouts in years and one of the most orderly ones.

William Scranton said last night in Ford City that only apathy on the part of PA citizens can stop Commonwealth progress. “PA has almost everything we need,” he said after reviewing recent gains in several fields. But he said the promotional efforts to sell the state’s advantages is a job for everyone.

10/31/1938 - A 3 year old Rural Valley boy died at Armstrong Co. Memorial Hospital, from injuries received when he was struck by a car near his home. He is James Carl Lias, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Lias of Rural Valley.
