Weekend Recap - What You Missed - October 6, 2018

The Information Center was full of activities this past weekend. Here are just a few of the activities that are part of this KP Weekend Recap.

FALL FOR ANIMALS


The 4th Annual Fall for Animals event was held Saturday at the Fort Armstrong Horse Park at Crooked Creek. Co-founder Sandy Cullen said there were 42 vendors, and crafters, and activities for kids such as games, scavenger hunt, and coloring contest. Mike Seitam demonstrated wood sculpting with a chain saw. There were hayrides, pumpkin painting, and other activities to raise money for animal rescue. All the money raised will be divided among nine sanctuaries and rescue shelters to assist with medical bills and other pressing needs. Last year, the non-profit group raised $9,000 and this year, they were hoping to surpass the $10,000 mark. Participants participated in a Chinese Auction that featured more than 65 donated baskets. Many different bands including “Common Ground” from New Alexandria provided entertainment. The group target festivals, breweries, and wineries. Jill Artman plays flute, husband Ken Artman plays rhythm guitar, and Josh Lucas plays lead guitar.

 

WORTHINGTON SENIOR CENTER GROCERY SALE


“Irish Mike” Sullivan holds up to sell a box of cereal at the Worthington Senior Center gigantic grocery sale last Saturday. A portion of the proceeds benefited the activities at the senior center.

 

CHRIST STOCK

ChristStock featured various booths and activities for children in Kittanning Riverfront Park. Local Christian groups from various churches performed in the amphitheater. In this photo, businessman/pastor Andrew Laddusaw performs music with others from Living Water Church.

 

SINGLE LANE TRAFFIC PATTERN CONTINUES ON ROUTE 66

Traffic was heavy between Ford City and Kittanning as Route 66 continues to be limited to just one lane in either direction. This picture was taken at the intersection of Fairground Road.
