After downing Richland 2-1 in the quarter-finals of the District 6 playoffs, the West Shamokin varsity boys soccer team defeated Bald Eagle High School, the number 1 seed in the district. It was a shut-out on Monday afternoon as the Wolves shut down Bald Eagle 1-0.
Sam Skamai was credited with the shutout and Liam Alese scored (his 49th goal of the year) the lone scorer after he finished a cross on a corner kick from Luke Alese.
This year was not only West Shamokin soccer’s first time to the District finals, it is off the tail of their first school playoff win in soccer.
The Wolves will play the winner of the Everett VS Bedford game at Mansion Park in Altoona on Thursday, November 2 starting at 5:30 PM.
