Tractor-Trailer Hits PennDOT Vehicles

An accident between a tractor-trailer and several PennDOT vehicles occurred Wednesday afternoon around 2:30. It had traffic tied up for almost four hours in the north-bound lane of Route 28, near the Slate Lick exit. (courtesy of WPXI Chopper 11)

Pennsylvania State Police confirmed that a tractor-trailer hit a PennDOT truck Wednesday afternoon on the north-bound lane of Route 28 just one-half mile before the Slate Lick exit.

Trooper Barnhart said the tractor-trailer, operated by Wami Osman, failed to stop before striking the rear end of a PennDOT vehicle that was working on Route 28 North. The collision caused the PennDOT vehicle to be pushe dinto two more parked PennDOT vehicles.

Police say two PennDOT workers were treated for minor injuries. Their names were not released by Trooper Barnhart.

The crash is still under investigation.

The crash occurred at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon. It was after 6PM that crews were able to remove the wreckage and clean up fuel and oil that was spilt on the highway.
