School Salutorian Madeline Baillie, daughter of Bruce and Becky Baillie of Ford City, admonished the AHS Class of 2017 to remain optimistic when plans for the future don’t happen as one would expect.
“No matter what school you weren’t admitted to, or what sports team you didn’t make, have faith that better times are ahead,” she said.
School Valedictorian Levi Matthew Weitzel, son of Dwayne and Becky Weitzel of Kittanning, gave analogies of achieving happiness.
“I want everybody to try to truly appreciate who they have in their lives because that is truly the only way to achieve happiness. Appreciating your blessings and ignoring what you don’t have in life are big steps in accomplishing the ultimate goal of living a happy life. Each and every one of us have a great talent. I sincerely hope that all of us find happiness in our future endeavors.”
Senior Class President of 2017 Madison Veri. daughter of Brian and Dr. Tracy Veri of Kittanning, related how quickly thirteen years of education went by, and gave her class her best wishes.
“Our childhood is the great part of our lives, but the best is yet to come. I hope you all live your life to the fullest, be as successful as you can, be as happy as you can, and to love with all you’ve got because that is most important.”
A total of 196 students participated in last night’s ceremonies.
