Derek Hileman and Michael McGregor are behind bars today after being charged with multiple felonies from a drug raid early Thursday morning.
KITTANNING TOWNSHIP - A local greenhouse owner’s property was raided and two persons were jailed yesterday following a drug bust in Kittanning Township.
William McGregor,63, owns the greenhouse nursery at 12565 State Route 422 East, at the top of Blanket Hill. Today, 32-year-old Michael McGregor and 30-year-old Derek Hileman are in the Armstrong County Jail. Charges are pending on four other suspects who were found in the home at the time of the drug bust at approximately 4AM on Thursday morning.
Armstrong County District Attorney Scott Andreassi said the raid was carefully planned.
“The raid was a result of a search warrant that we obtained (Wednesday). The search warrant was obtained after we had conducted two controlled buys at the residence over the past week.”
Andreassi said this is not the first time police have raided the property.
“This was the house that was hit last August by the Pennsylvania State Police and ArmNet. At that time, the same individual and five others were arrested. They posted bond on those charges and are currently awaiting trial on those charges. We received information that once they posted bond, they were back to conducting drug deals at that residence. We began surveillance, keeping an eye on the house. We were able to get somebody in there to do a controlled buy. We got the second controlled buy two days ago. As soon as that buy was conducted, we obtained the search warrant. We contacted the Pennsylvania State Police CERT team, which is their trained entry team. The CERT team, ArmNet, and the Vice unit for the Pennsylvania State Police met at around 2AM (Thursday) We entered the house at 4AM. When we entered the house, we found six individuals present, one of which was William McGregor and Michael McGregor. We secured the residence without incident. Thereafter, a search was conducted from about 4AM until 9:30 AM. That search yielded narcotics which included heroin, cocaine, and a significant amount of cash along with literally tens of thousands of empty stamp bags indicating they were processing heroin at the scene… scales, and other paraphernalia indicating they were processing the drugs for sale.”
Andreassi said Hileman was incarcerated on $50,000 bond and McGregor was jailed on $100,000 bond.
