Armstrong Baseball Battles Wins Their First Game of the Year

Eli Hickman (pictured) nearly threw a perfect game Thursday afternoon against Lincoln High School, allowing just 1 hit in 5 innings as the River Hawks defeated the Wolverine’s 10-0.

The Armstrong River Hawks Varsity Baseball team survived the storm and delay Thursday afternoon, earning their first win of the season over Lincoln High School 10-0.

The River Hawks and Lincoln Wolverine’s had to wait a bit to start Thursday afternoon, but Armstrong’s starting pitcher Eli Hickman and the River Hawks offense proved the wait was worth it.

Armstrong opened the first inning going up 3-0 before adding 2 more runs to take a 5-0 lead into the third inning.

In the third inning, the River Hawks offense exploded for 4 runs thanks to RBI’s from Jacob Parisi and Dawson Porter as well as 2 RBI’s from starting pitcher Eli Hickman.

Along with throwing a shutout and allowing just one hit through 5 innings (River Hawks win on 10-run rule), Eli finished 2 for 2 at the plate, driving in 2 RBI’s

The River Hawks will look to build on their first win Monday as they travel to Mars High School to take on the Fightin’ Planets.
