East Franklin Approves Summer Help

Armstrong High School Seniors Jacob Parisi and Hunter Bordick will be paid $12/hour during their summer employment at East Franklin Township.

East Franklin Township Supervisors approved two individuals to help with projects this summer.

Supervisors Barry Peters, David Stewart, and Dan Goldinger agreed that Jacob Parisi and Hunter Bordick, will be paid $12 per hour. Both individuals are seniors at Armstrong High School.

Supervisors including David Stewart, had high praise for both students, stating they have a good work ethic.

“Both these kids, I know them, and I know they will do a good job.”

Stewart said the Township employs summer help due to the amount of mowing and weed-eating that is necessary.

“The Township is obligated - we have two cemeteries that we have to take care of year round. So we mow them and weed-eat around the tomb stones. Then, at the (Heritage) Park, we have all of that to mow and weed-eat. I don’t know if they will get time to work on the Trail.”

In addition to the summer employment, Supervisors also appointed two women to the East Franklin Township Park Commission. Tambra Cabiles and Jennifer Warmus will make recommendations on future improvements to Heritage Park.

$12 an hour for high school kids? To mow!??? Awe what the heck, it’s only tax dollars. 8-9 would’ve been plenty. But hey, we’re rich!
