NuMine Woman Charged With Arson

Pennsylvania State Police have charged a NuMine woman following a fire to her home at 4044 3rd Street in Cowanshannock Township.

Trooper Joshua Osche stated that on late Friday evening, March 24, the unidentified 49-year-old lit a match to ignite a pile of clothes in her bedroom after she had consumed alcoholic beverages. The woman remained in the bedroom with the intent of committing suicide. The pile of clothes ignited a structure fire to the home. There were three dogs belonging to the woman that were killed in the structure fire.

The woman was unharmed, but now faces charges for Arson, Reckless Endangerment, and Cruelty to Animals.
