Ruth Marie Emminger Zellefrow went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday March 5, 2017. She was born December 24. 1933 in West Kittanning to Grace Younkins Emminger and Samuel William Emminger. She was the motehr of Dawn Zellefrow, Cidy (and Dan Dosch), and Mark (and Cindy Foster) Zellefrow. Her seven grandchildren, Aaron Dosch, Craig (and Whitney) Dosch, Keith Dosch, Bria Watterson, Donny (and Samantha Zellefrow, Mark Zellefrow (and Fred Hadding) and Christa Zellefrow, were the light of her life as was her great grandson Kolt Daniel Dosch. She is also survived by five nieces and their husbands, and children, cousins and close friends, whom she dearly loved and they loved her back. In her later years, her dog Sandy was also by her side. They all called her “Nan” as did most of their friends. Ruth enjoyed her family above all else and loved being with them. She was preceded in death by her son, Craig Burwell Zellefrow, who passed away on October 27, 1959, her husband Donald, who passed away on September 19, 1975 and her father, Samuel William Emminger who passed away on March 12, 1982.
Ruth Served as the secretary of the West Kittanning Municipal Water Authority for 55 years. She was May Queen and Class Treasurer for Kittanning High School Class of 1951. She enjoyed their monthly luncheons. She belonged to Center Hill Church of the Bretheren, and was a memeber of the West Kittanning Firemen’s Ladies’ Auxillary where she served as president. She was a member of the Hospital Auxillary, the Red Hat Society, and the West Kittanning Seniors’ Group. Ruth was an integral member of the group of women who started the West Kittanning Girls’ Softball League in 1968.
Friends will be recieved from 2-4PM & 7-9PM Wednesday at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning. Additional viewing from 10AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11AM Thursday at the Center Hill Church of the Brethren with Dr. Ronald Shafter and Rev Donald Peters co-officiating. Internment at Lawn Haven Burial Estates. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Center Hill Church of the Brehren.
