Karns City Football Wins Division 8/9 Championship
The Karns City Gremlins (9-2) defeated Perry Traditional Academy (4-7) 54-36 to win the District 8/9 3A Championship on Saturday, qualifying them for the PIAA tournament this Saturday against Hickory (11-0).

The Karns City Gremlins (9-2) won their fifth straight district title after defeating Perry Traditional Academy (4-7) 54-36 on Saturday at Clarion University to move on to the PIAA tournament next week against Hickory (11-0).
The Gremlins did most of their work in the first two quarters as they found themselves with a 41-6 lead heading into halftime.
Karns City had three touchdown scorers in the first quarter in Aaron Hutchinson (3-yard TD run), Kaiden Powers (21 yard TD run), and Chandler Turner (4 yard TD run).
In the second quarter the Gremlins added another Chandler Turner touchdown, this time through the air from a pass by Jacob King. Kaiden Powers would add the next two touchdowns - a 32 and 21 yard reception as Jacob King picked up his second and third touchdowns of the day.
Kaiden Powers scored his fourth touchdown of the game in the third, but this time it was on the defensive side returning an interception 45 yards for the score.
The Gremlins were in the drivers seat for the majority of the game, but Perry Traditional Academy did pick up 30 of their 36 points in the third and fourth quarter.
Karns City will travel to Slippery Rocker University to take on Hickory in the PIAA tournament. Kickoff is set for 1:00 PM Saturday, November 19.
