A Reynoldsville (Jefferson County) man was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence last Friday morning in Valley Township.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, William John Piotrowski - 49 - was traveling along Route 85 early November 4 when his vehicle traveled over an embankment and struck a telephone pole.

Volunteer firefighters from Rural Valley, Rayburn Township and Kittanning Township responded to the crash site between Lauster Road and the former-Greendale Tavern site and monitored early-morning traffic along the highway until Windstream and Alltel units responded.

Piotrowski was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and taken to ACMH in East Franklin Township for a blood draw, but refused.

District Magisterial Judge James Owen in Kittanning arraigned Piotrowski on more than a half-dozen misdemeanor and summary charges later that Friday morning and confined Piotrowski to the Armstrong County Jail in Rayburn Township on $750 monetary bail.

While Piotrowski was not reportedly injured, his passenger – whose name was not reported by police – was transported to Allegheny Valley General in Natrona Heights via Kittanning #6 Ambulance.
