OBIT: Ivan J. Hooks (Adrian)

 

Ivan J. “Ike” “Mayor” Hooks age 84 of Adrian, PA died Tuesday, October 4, 2016 in Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

He was born July 4, 1932 in Adrian to the late P.F & Nannie (Heginbotham) Hooks.

Ike was a retired foreman for PennDOT and a member of the Limestone-Reesedale Church Of God.

He enjoyed woodworking and hanging with his buddies at McDonald’s. He also enjoyed being the unofficial mayor of Adrian.

Ike leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Evelyn “Pudge” Hooks; two daughters - Kimberly Baker and Dean Lindsay, of Greensburg and Tammy Croyle and husband Jim of Adrian; three grandchildren - Greg Baker and wife Tara of Kittanning, Nathan Croyle of Adrian, and Kaila Soltez and husband Matthew of Virginia; three great grandchildren - Madison and Abigail Baker, and Addison Soltez; half sister, Nancy Toy of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.

Ike was preceded in death by his parents and siblings - Denny & Joe Hooks and Oma Belle Crissman; and half-siblings Frank, Nelson, Neal Jim, and Helen Milliken, and Kate Hooks.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9PM tomorrow - Thursday, October 6 - and Friday, October 7 in the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Cowansville.

Additional visitation will be available from 10AM until the time of services at 11AM Saturday, October 8 in the Limestone-Reesedale Church of God with the Rev. Donald Breghenti officiating.

Burial will follow in the Croyle Cemetery.
