West Shamokin Loses to Penns Manor
by Jake DeLuca
The second week of high school football has officially closed and this week marks another tough loss for the West Shamokin Wolves as they now fall to 0-2 on the season.
West Shamokin found themselves down early in the game after two first half touchdowns by Penns Manor running backs Isaiah Scott and Trent Franks.
The Wolves found themselves down 14-0 heading into the second quarter where West Shamokin’s quarterback Devin Fairman was able to scramble one yard in for a touchdown.
Another notable player from West Shamokin and one name that kept coming up during the WTYM broadcast was sophomore fullback Daniel Goldstrohm. We got a chance to talk to Daniel after the game where he put up over 90 yards.
We also got a chance to talk to West Shamokin Head Coach Jon McCullough who talked about positives and negatives of the game, what to expect next week and more.
West Shamokin will look to bounce back and earn their first win at home next week against Purchase Line.
