Night Work Begins Along Local Highways

Night work began last night on Route 66 and the Route 422 ramps for roadwork in central Armstrong County

Night work and flagger-controlled traffic began at the intersection of Route 66 and Route 128 in Ford City and on the Route 422 on and off ramps for roadwork in Manor and Rayburn Townships.

According to PennDOT, a detour is in place using the Route 422 West to Butler on ramp and the South 66 to Ford City off ramp for motorists to access Ford City.

Motorists traveling on Fort Run Rd to Ford City will be restricted to making a Left Turn Only and following the detour.

Intersection work and ramp work will be coordinated so that they occur at separate times and do not impact the detour.

There are single lane restrictions still in place on Route 66 North and South from Route 128 in Ford City to Route 1040 (Indiana Road).

The project involves concrete patching, diamond grinding, paving and curb installation.

This $3.7 million roadway project is being constructed by J. C. Lee Construction and Supply Company, and is expected to be completed the end of October.
