Near-Robbery Suspects On the Loose

A pair of men is on-the-lookout by police after being suspected of nearly robbing an Apollo gas station at gunpoint last night.

About 11:40PM, Armstrong 9-1-1 officials reported to southern Armstrong County police units that officials at the Honey Bear convenience store in North Apollo were nearly robbed.

The two men – with one described as alleged wearing a gas mask and white hooded sweatshirt and another shielding his face with a black bandana – reportedly had a pistol and a baseball bat, but did not steal any money nor merchandise. Both men were reportedly Caucasian.

The men reportedly left on foot before officials called Armstrong 9-1-1.

Apollo Borough and Vandergrift officers as well as Pennsylvania State Police troopers were searching for the men late last night and early this morning, but no update has since been issued.
