OBIT: Doretha Zahradnik (Ford City)
Doretha Zahradnik, 94 of Ford City, died Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Melody Manor Personal Care Home in Kittanning.
She was born January 17, 1922 to Charles Calvin Myers and Myrtle Luella Guthrie Myers.
Zahradnik formerly worked at Jamesway.
Doretha was a member of Christ, Prince of Peace, Parish in Ford City.
She was an excellent seamstress and made a lot of clothes over the years. Doretha also enjoyed gardening, BINGO, and spending time with her family.
She was married to Paul J. Zahradnik, Sr. - who died October 10, 2008.
Doretha is survived by two sons: Paul (and Amy) Zahradnik, of Ford City and Allan (and Nancy) Zahradnik, of Greensburg; five grandchildren: Erin Zahradnik, Michelle Sperl, Craig Zahradnik, Cory Zahradnik and Christa Miko; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Jerome Laird Zahradnik; grandson Kevin Zahradnik; three brothers: Clarence, Charles and Archie; and seven sisters: Eva, Chloe, Olive, Ila, Annabelle, Mildred and Gamet.
Friends will be received from 5-8PM tomorrow - Friday, July 1, 2016 - at the Mantini Funeral Home in Ford City.
A prayer service will be held at 10AM Saturday, July 2, 2016 at the funeral home before a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 at Christ, Prince of Peace Parish in Ford City.
Father Alan Grote will officiate.
Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
