Authorities believe someone may have set the fire that damaged the Wal-Mart store in the Hilltop Plaza in East Franklin Township on Sunday evening.

According to unidentified store personnel, the fire originated in the clothing section of the men’s department. Another person said it was close to a fitting room.

East Franklin Township Fire Chief Mark Feeney said store video and witness statements will be key in solving the mystery as to who and why the fire was started.

The Pennsylvania State Police and State Fire Marshal have been called in to investigate the incident.

The building sustained extensive smoke damage and will remain closed until cleanup and restoration is complete.

its a shame.. people get so stupid that they have to destroy - might have been better ‘show’ had they set themselves on fire in the parking lot instead
