Last night, the W/K Stangs won against the Brooklyn (NY) Bonnie Jays 17 -3 at the East Zone Palomino Tournament - located at the Bob Cene Baseball Complex in Struthers, Ohio.

The Stangs recorded 12 hits and limited the Bonnie Jays to four.

The Stangs scored most of their runs – 16 – in the third inning. Nash Matson and Donovan Wichowski both had three hits resulting in two RBI’s, Tyler Fries scored four after doubling twice and both Reise Matson and Michael Lhote were walked twice.

W/K Pitcher Ben Vicini started and won the contest, pitching four innings and only allowing one run. Kyle Lazaroff pitched an inning to end the game.

But, W/K didn’t have much time off to savor the win and had to go against the rested Youngstown team.

However, the Stangs also came back to win that game, 8-5.

Youngstown took an early lead, scoring in the first and third innings.

The Stangs were down 4-0 at the bottom of the fifth inning when the team rallied for eight runs to overtake control.

Against Youngstown, Wichowski had another three-hit performance (two singles and a triple with two RBI’s) and Lhote recorded three hits as well.

Stangs’ starting pitcher Eli Hickman allowed five runs during the complete game, and even helped his cause with a double.

W/K Palomino continue on their regional playoff at 8PM tonight against Youngstown Nightline.
