OBIT: Joan Greenbaum (Kittanning)

Joan Warlack Greenbaum, 83 of Kittanning, passed away peacefully, Good Friday, March 25, 2016 surrounded by her children and her granddaughter.

She was born Oct. 21, 1932 in Pittsburgh, PA., to Michael Z. and Helen T. Warlack. She moved to the Kittanning and Ford City Area in 1959 after her marriage to the late George Pearson Greenbaum Sr.

She spent her life doing volunteer work at the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital with the Candy Stripers and then at the Emergency room department in West Franklin. She also worked at the Children and Youth Services of Armstrong County as a driver. She enjoyed transporting the children to the appointments and visits they had to attend. She retired from the VA Hospital in Oakland in 1997. She was loved by everyone she met.

She is survived by her children: George P. Greenbaum and wife Kimberly and Joan’s granddaughter Lindsey Marie Greenbaum of Loving, NM, Ann Greenbaum Boger and her partner Jeffery N. Harding of Kemah, TX., Susan Greenbaum Ford and husband James of Kittanning, and David Pryde Greenbaum and wife Greta Lutman of Clyde, NC. Joan’s step-children include: Teddi Hinkey, Dustin Maag and Brent Maag, also 13 step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and infant son Michael.
