OBIT: William M. “Mike” Stephens, Jr. (Kittanning)

William Michael Stephens, 31, of Kittanning, died Sunday, February 21, 2016.

He was born June 11, 1984 in Kittanning, a son of William Michael and Sherry Lynn (Payton) Stephens.

Mike worked for Family-Life TV as a cameraman and previously as a union roofer for local 37.

He was a graduate of Kittanning High School and attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.

Mike loved hunting and fishing, and hanging out with family and friends. He also enjoyed making special gifts and making videos.

He will be greatly missed by his parents; paternal grandparents: William W. and Carolyn F. Stephens of Kittanning; maternal grandmother: Mary E. Elgin of Kittanning; his three dogs: Scruffy, Bella, and Maleena; aunts: Susan (Terry) Livengood of Worthington, Toni (Glenn) Livengood of Slate Lick, Tammy Stephens of Kittanning, Sheila Jibben of Kittanning, Sandy Slaughter of Puxico, Missouri, and Tammy (Tim) Rodnicki of Apollo; uncles: James E. (Brenda) Stephens of Kittanning, and Timothy (Hilliary) Odrechowski of Mosgrove; cousins: Todd Livengood of Kittanning, Chase Stephens of Sarver, Laken Ingram of Adrian, Greg Claunch Jr. of California; Bradley Watkins of Punxico, Missouri, Amelia Jibben of Illinois, Ryan Odrechowski of Kittanning, Paige Odrechowski of Mosgrove, Morgan Odrechowski of Kittanning, and Jennifer Odrechowski of Kittanning; and special friend: Kiley.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather: Orval Payton; step-grandfather: William Elgin; and uncle: Ronald E. Payton.

Friends will be received at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday, February 23, 2016. Visitation continues Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 10AM in the funeral home, followed by a funeral service at 11AM with the Reverend David Croyle and the Reverend John Snyder co-officiating. Interment will be in the Pine Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
