OBIT: Shirley Arlene (Rearick) Kulick (Rural Valley)

Shirley Arlene (Rearick) Kulick, 83, of Rural Valley, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015 at St. Andrew’s Village.

She was born August 22, 1932 in Rural Valley, the daughter of Raymond and Blanche (Goldstrohm) Rearick.

Shirley lived her entire life in the Rural Valley area and took great pride in caring for her family. While raising her children, she was known for baking birthday and wedding cakes out of her home. Shirley was a former 4-H leader and enjoyed working with her beautiful plants and flowers. She dearly loved her cats and dogs. She worked at the former Season-All plant in Yatesboro for 19 years. She was a member of the St. Mary, Mother of God Church in Yatesboro and was an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion for the homebound after retirement. She loved her Lord with all of her heart and looked to Him daily for guidance. Her family and friends will always remember her kind and caring nature. She will be greatly missed.

Her memory will be cherished by her daughters, Valerie Nichol and husband, Tom, of Dayton, PA, and Kathy Gispanski and husband, Joe, of Worthington; son, George A. Kulick and wife, Joyce, of Dayton, PA; granddaughters, Jessica (Nichol) Ferrington and husband, Marc, and Rebecca Nichol, all of Fall Branch, TN; sisters, Doris Kuhn, of Cadogan, Emmagene Keeler, of Shelocta, and Lois Schrecongost, of Rural Valley, and brother, Ron Rearick, of Frewsburg, NY.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, George Kulick, who passed away August 6, 2008; and sisters, Evelyn Crytzer and Ida Mae Aikens.

Friends will be received from 1-3 and 6-8 PM on Sunday , October 18, 2015 at Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home in Elderton. A funeral mass will be held at 10 AM on Monday, October 19, 2015 at St. Mary, Mother of God Catholic Church of Yatesboro, with the Reverend Douglas E. Dorula as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Yatesboro.
