OBIT: Ward McKinley (Kittanning)

Ward McKinley, 87 of Kittanning, died Thursday, July 9, 2015 in Kittanning Care Center.

He was born to Samuel and Anna Maude (Cogley) McKinley July 5, 1928 in Kittanning.

A lifelong community resident, Ward retired from Moonlight Mushrooms where he conducted building maintenance.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and member of Salem U.C.C.

Ward also enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and building - but most of all spending time with his family.

Ward is survived by his four sons: William (and Cindy) McKinley of Kittanning, Donald (and Sheila) McKinley of Kittanning, James McKinley of Kittanning and Glenn McKinley of Cowansville; daughter, Judith McKinley and fiance Dan Smeltzer of Kittanning; and three grandchildren: Derek (and fiance Stacy), Brad (and significant other Rachel) and Justin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Claypool McKinley, who died January 26, 2013; and two brothers: Harry and Norman.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9PM tomorrow - Saturday, July 11, 2015 - at the Mantini Funeral Home in Ford City.

Additional visitation will be offered from 10AM Monday, July 13, 2015 until the time of the funeral service at 11AM.

Interment will be in Kittanning Cemetery.
