OBIT: Robert C. Burns (Dayton)

Robert C. Burns, 74, of Dayton, Wayne Township, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Fox Chapel.

He was born on December 1, 1939 to James and Maude (Anderson) Burns in Yatesboro.

Robert worked at Passerini’s Service Station for many years and after marriage for R&P/Consol Coal until retirement.

Robert graduated from Shannock Valley High School in 1957. He enjoyed camping, mowing yard and watching all sports on TV.

Robert is survived by his wife of 44 years Glenda (Kerr) Burns; son, Rob (Amy Lake) Burns of Dayton; grandson, Colton Burns of Dayton; and step-grandchildren: Katlyn and Patrick Stewart of Dayton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter - Cathy L. Burns, whom died May 28, 1999; and a brother - James Burns.

Friends will be received from 5-8PM tomorrow - Thursday, November 20, 2014 - at Carson/Boyer Funeral Home in Rural Valley.

Funeral services will be held immediately following at 8PM with Pastor Steve Kromer, of the New Hope Assembly of God officiating.

Burial will take place in the Rural Valley Cemetery.
