Kittanning Man Apprehended for Suspected Simple Assault

During the weekend, State Police troopers from Kittanning apprehended an intoxicated male after allegedly assaulting his mother and step-father.
Aaron Corvi, 25 of Kittanning is currently incarcerated in the Armstrong County Jail on a misdemeanor count of second-degree simple assault and two summary counts of harassment from an incident that occurred shortly after midnight Saturday.
According to the state police report, Corvi arrived at his parent’s – Tanya and Rick Hetrick – 46 and 47, respectively – home in Rayburn Township about 12:45AM August 23. He was greeted by his mother who allowed usage of her vehicle to complete a job for his employer.
When she found out Corvi lied, the pair got into a verbal domestic altercation in the kitchen. The stepfather awoke due to the altercation and confronted the accused, but also was not able to get Corvi to back up.
At one point, Corvi took both parents to the floor, causing his mother to sustain a right knee injury that caused difficulty walking and a cut above her left ankle.
Corvi was taken into custody by police troopers and arraigned via video arrangement by on-call District Magisterial Judge Samuel Goldstrohm. He is currently incarcerated on $5,000 monetary bond.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled to be held at 9AM tomorrow.
