An Apollo woman was transported to a regional hospital after a city vehicle crash last night.
Deborah Jackson, 46, was transported via ambulance to St. Margaret’s Hospital in Pittsburgh for minor injuries after her vehicle was hit while crossing the Highland Park Bridge along Route 28 Southbound.
Jackson was traveling in her 2002 Oldsmobile Alero when a 2002 Hyundai Sonata driven by Tanisha Cooper, 26, lost control along the bridge while negotiating a right curve and colliding with Jackson’s Alero.
Wet weather was determined to be one factor for the crash.
However, Cooper’s Sonata was also found to have insignificant tire depth and determined to be driving at an unsafe speed for the weather. She will be charged with both offenses.
State police troopers were assisted at the scene by Ohara Township police officers, Aspinwall firefighters, Ferra’s Towing and Parkview Ambulance Services.
