6/29/1968 - Salary increases were approved last night for Lenape Vocational-Technical School. The increase of salaries that ranged from $6,000 to $9,500 was an attempt to bring personnel within the guidelines suggested by the Department of Public Instruction. In most cases, however, the new level is about $200 less than the salary scale maximum. The psychologist will receive the most - $12,400.
6/29/1968 - Hundreds of people lined both sides of Main Street for the 22nd Annual Worthington West Franklin Firemen’s Parade last night - the highlight of the weeklong fire fighters carnival. Jenny Good, the Worthington Volunteer Fire Department’s 1968 Queen, and her court, riding on the boots of shining new convertibles, also appeared in the parade. Parade marshall Walter Pence said “everything went over pretty good.”

6/29/1953 - Richard C. Shubert, formerly of Kittanning and employed as a chemist for the past 15 years by the Metal Research Laboratories, Niagara Falls, New York, a division of Union Carbide and Carbon, has been assigned from the division to the Ore Division of the organization.

6/29/1948 - A Worthington RD 2 woman was injured when a car driven by her husband overturned on Route 422, a mile west of Worthington. The woman, Doris Jean Branan, was confined today in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, suffering internal injuries.
6/29/1943 - Lightning struck a large barn Monday on the farm of Mrs. Andrew Starr, near Spaces Corners, Rayburn Township. The resulting fire destroyed the barn and several hundred dollars’ worth of farm machinery.

Riggle of Kelly Station, (Co C 14th Reg. Penna. Vol. Calvary) and Levy Schreckengost of Putneyville (Co. D, 103rd Reg. Penna. Vol. Infantry).
