Rosebud Mining Acquires Another Market Street Property

The Beauty Connection on Market Street announces their plans to move into a different facility to customers after their property, the Brody Building, was purchased by Rosebud Mining earlier this year.

A major downtown business has acquired a neighboring building for possible expansion.
Rosebud Mining reportedly has purchased the Brody Building on Market Street, currently home to the Beauty Connection and an empty storefront.
Beauty Connection Co-Owners Wannetta Wilding said the Beauty Connection has been at 322 Market Street in downtown Kittanning for more than six years, with the past six having the storefront facing Market Street and no plans to move until employees received a surprising phone call in March.
“We didn’t have plans until Rosebud called and said we had to get out,” Wilding said. “They gave us six months – they’ve been really good.”
“Rosebud bought our building,” Wilding reiterated.
The salon has plans to move within 100 Parkview Drive in Kittanning and plans a grand opening September 6. The Beauty Connection would reportedly be taking over another salon within that building that was closing.
Rosebud Mining Vice President Jim Barker confirmed the acquisition.
“It’s adjacent to other property – I really don’t have any further comment on it – it’s just another property in Kittanning,” Barker said.
Barker pits the acquisition within the past two months and said the company does not have any plans in-the-works for that building.
Barker would not comment on the size of the structure.
Armstrong County Economic Development Executive Director Michael Coonley could not be reached for comment due to the timing of the information.

Mr Baker says “it’s just another property in Kittanning” and “the company does not have any plans in-the-works for that building.” So why buy it?

Kittanning is becoming a slum-town. The only thing that keeps it alive is the corruption.

Pick a town in Armstrong County that isn’t falling apart. We can’t let local government keep doing the same old, same old. It’s time for change. And if the newly elected officials can’t fix things, then vote them out and start over. Whatever it takes.

Look up the street at what Rosebud has done with the other properties they own, they look a heckuva lot better than most of the rest of Market Street. Some of those other buildings have had little done to them in 50 years, just walk into the dungeon that the former 5 and 10 is now. At least these folks will make positive change. You wanna revitalize the town ? Start by either tearing down or fixing up the buildings that need it on Market Street then work your way north and south. Rosebud seems to be the only one willing to buy these places, let them, anything to make the town nicer.
