Russell L. Spang, 81, formerly of Manor Township, died Wednesday July 28, 2010 in the Kittanning Care Center.
He was born May 10, 1929 in Manor Township, son of Floy R.and Vera (Baker) Spang.
Mr. Spang was a truck driver and drove for O.K. Heilman Trucking and then Preston Trucking where he retired. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he served with the US Army.
He was a member of the Ford City American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching western movies and sports of all kinds, working around his house and cutting his grass.
Surviving are one daughter, Carol (John) Myers-Griffiths of Erie, one son, Jeffrey (Sherri) Spang of Ford Cliff, two sisters, Helen Sapp of Enterprise, AL and Leona James Kearns of Pittsburgh, four grandsons, Jeffrey J. (Kiera) Spang, II, Brian J,. Spang, Eric Myers, and Evan Myers, four great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Freda (Fennell) Spang who died in 1983 one sister, Phyllis Romutis and one infant brother, Floy Spang.
Friends will be received at the at the Welch Funeral Home in Ford City on
