Jim Skursky was having a normal evening last night on his job as he delivered Vocelli pizza throughout the Kittanning area.

He returned from one of his deliveries just before 8PM. He has been delivering pizzas for the South Water Street Vocelli’s Pizza store over the past four months. Enjoying the warmth of a spring evening, he jumped out of his car and didn’t think about winding up his window.

It was an hour later when Skursky, 34, went back to his 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier to make another delivery run. It was then he realized a money bag containing approximately $180 in cash and checks was missing.

“It was nice out and really warm,” Skursky told Kittanning Police officers Pete Harmon and Joe Riskosky.

Throughout the investigation, both Harmon and Riskosky were concerned. “This is my fourth incident of theft today,” Riskosky said.

Harmon said that retail theft had been on the rise. Just one block away at Klingensmith’s Drug Store in Kittanning, unknown youth shoplifted from that business.

“This is very close proximity,” Harmon commented. “It is too coincidental.”

“We have the Klingensmith incident on video,” Harmon continued. “These are kids we haven’t seen before.”

The officers continued their investigation throughout the evening while Skursky tried to resume his delivery duties.

“I just hope they catch whoever did this,” Skursky said as he went back into the pizza shop.
