OBIT: Donald G. Boyer (Elderton)

Donald G. Boyer, 90, of Elderton, died Friday, September 4, 2015 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.

He was born September 3, 1925 in Indiana Co., PA, the son of Owen and Hazel (Fleming) Boyer.

Donald was a lifelong resident of the area and honorably served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. For many years, he worked as a Nationwide Insurance agent and also ran Boyer’s Notary with his wife, Nancy. Donald was a member of Elderton Presbyterian Church and also belonged to the American Legion, Punxsutawney Antique Car Club, Pine-e Camping Club and Masonic Lodge 805. In his free time, he enjoyed camping and cheering for the Steelers and Pirates. Most of all, Donald loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Donald’s memory will be cherished by his son, Tracy Boyer and wife, Karen; daughters, Bonnie Gratzmiller and husband, Tom, and Shawnee Boyer Hohl and husband, Jeff; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Elaine Daughtery and husband, Clyde; and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife of 65 years, Nancy Louise Boyer.

At Donald’s request, services will be private.
